Secondary School Schulstraße Berlin
Learning neighbourhood in the district
The new secondary school building on Schulstraße in Berlin-Wedding blends into its diverse urban surroundings thanks to its clear layout and versatile architecture. The concept of a ‘learning neighbourhood’ creates a close connection between the school and the city, with the school divided into smaller units that foster a sense of identity. The flexible room layout and modular construction create an adaptable building that supports future-oriented educational concepts. The use of wood and concrete as building materials promotes sustainability, while the generous use of daylight and versatile outdoor areas, such as green roofs and garden islands, improve well-being and the microclimate.
