Event hall Groß-Enzersdorf

The new event hall in Groß Enzersdorf sensitively respects the existing medieval structure while contrasting it with a contemporary extension. This creates an exciting dialogue between the old and new buildings, resulting in a harmonious new overall appearance. The courtyard is given a new, attractive surface that allows for a variety of uses (e.g. parking, outdoor events, markets). New trees structure the square. Public use is emphasised by the striking design of the new wing: the large new town hall with foyer, in the form of a stylised wing, clearly stands out from the other uses of the administrative building and at the same time offers a convincing architectural solution for the design of the wing. The folded basic shape and the architectural differentiation between glass and solid elements create an attractive, contemporary overall appearance and promote dialogue between the existing and new buildings.
